I am a photographer and digital artist and I explore both traditional and experimental methods to create my work.

I think visually, and find it easier to learn and investigate ideas by trying things out for myself. My work often takes several forms throughout its creation as I try out different techniques and either reject or incorporate the changes. My research to date has worked in a similar way: by seeing work that I like or which intrigues me, I am inspired to find out more about the artist and the way in which they create their work.

My material approach to art practice involves photography and computer manipulation software. I also extend my material practice by writing poetry, reading, and in this case through written reflection. I see the material and poetic aspect of this work as a process of catharsis. As a naturally quiet person, I prefer to channel my stress from my busy life, the problems in the world and my own personal fears and emotions into my work.

To cleanse and express what is on my mind, sometimes literally and sometimes at a complete tangent. My art defines me, what I do and who I am, and also why I exist.
